Seven Hills Transfer Station

As Principal Design Consultants, GWE was responsible for civil, structural and mechanical design. To minimise the overall project duration, GWE proposed several innovative management and technical initiatives including;

• the separation of the bulk earthworks contract so it could be tendered while the balance of the work was in progress;
• the use of precast elements for pushpit construction to optimise tolerance control and reduce construction time and cost.

The diversion of Water Board sewers was achieved by providing special culverts and temporary diversions and by maintaining existing ground levels along sections of the route to ensure protection from earth moving equipment.

GWE was subsequently appointed Superintendent for the contract during the construction phase.
