AWT Perth and Cairns

Following the success of the Port Stephens installation, GWE completed the design for two more plants, one in Cairns and the other in Perth. Both these projects provide a much larger capacity than at Port Stephens. The Eweson Digesters for the new projects are 70 metres long and 4.5 metres in diameter, compared with the earlier digesters.

The Cairns centre has three digesters and the one in Perth has four.

GW Engineers carried out the structural and mechanical design and provided engineering support services for the mechanical, structural, electrical and instrumentation works and advice on a variety of construction and operational aspects of the plants.
